I do not think there are Jk in Brazil but I know there are many Ismailis of Syrian origin whose ancestors moved to South America long time back.

YAM brother and sisters.
YAM brother and sisters. Sometimes I am wondering when I read some comments here in guestbook. For example, somebody asked is there any Jamatkhana in South Korea. Of course, there is no any Jamaatkhana. I think that our Ismaili brothers and sisters should know about some elementary knowledge in which countries of world our faith exists in which no....
reply
would like to tell you that alot of times there is no jamat living in a particular place but some members of our community get together so to continue our jamat khana practices. like in the case of nepal where i was in the start of this year, i didnt notice that if there would be ismailies in khatmandu. but when i got back to my home country eventually i came to know that there are few members in nepal kathmandu, so its a forum where we can easily locate our brothers and sisters around the world. we must be very open to share knowledge, there is no harm in it.
JK
I agree with you. The same was in Tajikistan. The first JK was opened just last year!
Nepal
hello i was wondering do u know by any chance if there is a jamat now in nepal and if they meet regularly, because i go there sometimes on work visits, if you could get back to me that would be good! thanks!

Importance of Pirs.
Ya Li Madad..
I am from India - Gujarat. I am always confused that should we believe in Peers. Is it important for us. there are different Pirs for different family surnames... I have heard that if we dont remember them during festivals then we have to pay for it.. I have also heard that this are just blind beliefs.. I am confused. plz reply me..
Thank you so much.
Importance of Pirs.
YAM, To begin with, you need not be confused about believing in PIRS becoz our 49th Imam - Noor mawlana Shah Karim hazar imam has retained the PIRI jauma with himself. Therefore just to clear your concept, hazar imam is our 49th Imam & 50th PIR. I would suggest you to listen to some WAEZ which are available on this website to gain more knowledge on this subject. Also i would suggest you to refer to a Ginan - Saloko Nano, (with translation) which is also there on this web.
Regards,
Imran.

Ismaili Pirs- Reply for Karima Mithani
Hello there,
Ya Ali Madad,
I am not a very knowledgeable person but from the poor knowledge that I have, here's your answer.
Islam means submission (to God if I am correct). We are Shia Imami Ismaili (named after our beloved 6th Imam Hazrat Ismail) Muslims. There should be no doubt in your mind about whether or not we should believe in our holy pirs. There's no choice here. You and we all got to believe whatever our Holy pirs told us and what our holy Imams tells us. There is no force of any kind that you have to believe. Even in the Holy Quran Allah says "Laa Ikrah fiddeen" meaning "There is no compulsion" (in religion). It is therefore, our believe and what that was of our forefathers for centuries that these pirs had a mandate, a mission and they were only appointed by the then all (present at that time) living Imams. We simply believe that we must and should continue to believe in their holy missions. Let me say, if it was not for the pirs, we would not have known our holy Imams and our holy religion. Simple truth.
If you still have doubts or are confused to what and whom should you believe, just sit down for a session with a jamati missionary and I am sure your mind will be clear for the rest of your life. Good luck.
Pirs from ismaili point of view
I have read ur question in Guest book. ( the position of Peer in ismaili point of view was very high and important Hazrat imam husin was the owner of Imamat position and his brother Hazrat Hasan was the owner of peer position, by the passing of time the Imam of the time of every preiod introducing this position, but Hazrat Sultan Mohamad Sha in one of his Farman ordered the Ismai people that after this, " i am myself is the holder of both position". and also the peer is the position of mother and Imamat is the position of father Molana Hazir says in every Farman," i send u all my mothernal and paternal loving, blessing prayer. Thank u

Dear All
if any one can answer me that the Shams Tabreez was an Ismaili Imam or not.
send the answer to this user (enayatullah.mosini@hotmail.com or enayatullah.mosini@Gmail.com.
Thank you
Shams Tabreez
The names of all of Ismaili Imams appear in our du'a in chronological order. Shams Tabreez's was not an Ismail Imam
Which Shams are you talking about.
On that time we had two Shams one that we call him Maulana Rumi and the second that the Rumie find the right way was the Ismaili Imam.
If you know or have researched in the Istanbul of Turkey the researcher will investigate that how was the Shams that mowlana was so fun of him and we or i believe that he was the Ismaili Imam and without Imam no one be able to show us right way and path that we can know the God.
I strongly believe that man was our Imam how showed the right way to Mowlana Rumi.

Looking for geet lyrics
There is an old geet in Mowla's shaan based on an old indian film song..Garib ki suno "
The geet version is "Karim ki suno woh tumhari sunega, woh sakhawat ka malik mushkilkhusha hamara"
It is a beautiful geet with very impressive lyrics which we had sung for our variety show in Dhaka, Bangladesh in the late 1980's. Please email me if anyone has heard this or has its full lyrics. Would really appreciate it.
Thank you.

Congratulations! For Creating A Dynamic Ismaili Web Site.
Hi ! Ya Ali Madat to all Ismailies in the world. We are so lucky to have Mowla's guidance all through the last 1500 years!
Allahuma Sali Allah Muhamadinan Wa Alleh Muhamad!
I just found this wonderful enlightening Ismaili Web Site and am thrilled going through it. This is great news for the Ismailies living in all parts of the world. It allows all Jamaat to communicate with each other and never be far from knowledge of our history...past and present. Love the charming historic pictures of our Imams and their families. This is just the beginning.... the future of this site is very bright.... the Sun has just started to smile on the Ismaili Spiritual Empire.
All Ismailies should be aware of this site and benefit from the vast information about our religion and history. Ismaili youth should devote their I.T. expertise to this site and help improve it tremendously. Spread the knowledge you have to benefit all our Jamaat.... all 25,000,000 Ismailies. Sharing and caring has never been easier with the advent of the internet. Knowledge is Power. Return the gift of your intellect to rest of the Ismaili world. We are all brothers and sisters. Intelligence is a Blessing from Allah! Spread it ...let it multiply! This site's motto is to enlighten the Ismailies everywhere on this earth. To help the needy and show the straight path to our youth.
Using this modern tool to guide and benefit our super modern Ismailies; appealing their voluntary participation; requesting them to give their precious time to improve this site; networking with other Ismailies and spreading the message... are a few goals of Ismaili.net .
I am so happy and proud of this auspicious beginning....the Star War years are coming... imagine how Prophet Mohamad & his desciples spread the word of Allah in the stone age period.... what we can do with all the communication multi media tools we possess! With Mowla's Ever-Lasting Blessings... we will succeed in improving the lot of modern Ismailies... Physicaly, Mentally, Spiritually, Socially and all other ways conceivable. Not forgetting Politically and Financially.
My prayers are for total success for this project. More Power & Health to all the pioneers. May Hazar Imam Bless all the Ismailies in this Universe!
With Best Regards & Love,
Sadru Jasani

spammers
Everyone should be careful about posting their email addresses on this site. There are many people who are using these emails to spam and also sending emails for "help" etc...
I know this because I of the spam and emails I personally have received. Some people specifically state they heard about me from this site.
It is a shame that there are always parasites such as these on networks but it is a reality we must be prepared for.

Qasida
Does anyone know of a Qasida called "ya imami, ya imami"?
I have heard it several times in Canada recited by Indian Ismaili's but not Afghani Ismailis. I have asked my Afghani friends to write the words out however, when they listen to the recorded recitations they find that the words are not pronounced correctly to make out a proper qasida.
I would appreciate any thoughts and responces.
Please direct your emails to sawyerclass@gmail.com.
ginans
I truly appreciate having a library of Ginans. My only concern is that when I have looked for proper pronounciations of certain ginans the many tracks are accompanied with music and contain personal changes. I realize many ginans are recited differently in the world wide jamats, however I feel it is important for a library to have references that pertain to recitations that what you would find at Jamatkhannas and not at concert halls. This is important for those of us trying to perserve our wonderful tradition and learn ginans that would otherwise be lost to the future jamats.
Ismaili Girl needs assistance--Sad but true
Dear Reader,
I contemplated alot if i should post this comment or not, but after contemplating for days, i finally decided this would be the appropriate medium to relate information through.
During my research in Tanzania on Gender Based Violence, I came across a Ismaili girl, 25 years old, Living in Dares Salaam. She is born to an Ismaili father who has fathered 3 children, 2 boys and 1 girl, with and Arab woman. The children go to jamat-khana every Friday. The 2 boys attend public schools (non Aga khan) and live in inappropriate conditions in a slum known as kariakoo. The girl works for a construction company, owned by a native Tanzania (non-ismaili/non-Asian) earning 200,000 tshs/month. The girl is the only bread earner in the house, her father is living in the Lake region of Tanzania not supporting the family. Note, the mother is ill and unable to work.
The house is dependent on one girl earning 200,000 Tshs/Month. The family had approached the ismaili council, 9 years ago, for assistance in schooling and some sort of financial assistance, they were denied for unknown reason, and were told to come back later, they did go back, but to no avail.
The amount the girl brings home is not sustaining the family, so now days she has been resorting to prostitution, charing around 100,000 tshs/2 hours. She is forced to do this because twice a month, because she was not able to go for further education, after completing Form 4 (public school), and she was denied assistance by the Ismaili council.
I did assist her with some money, but i don't think this family's' needs will be solved by money alone, i think the family needs some serious help, and the girl needs some sort of psycho-social assistance, and further education.
If you are interested in assisting this family, please leave a comment on this post and i will contact you and provide you with the contacts of this family.
