The Federal Information Technology Ministry recently announced it will develop a mobile application called ‘Beti’ aimed at creating awareness among women about their rights and to provide facilities.

The ‘Beti’ app, according to the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT), would work akin to an online portal and offer guidance on women’s rights. The goal of the new app is to help women become independent through information and communication technologies (ICT).

‘Beti’ app would offer information on Pakistan’s laws, women’s education and scholarships, as well as job opportunities. It would also help provide locations of the nearest hospital and women police station in their area, alongside various other services and facilities.
