Aga Khan University signed an agreement with Sudbury Memorial Hospital, Sudbury, Ontario, that will see Sudbury's medical staff helping to train their counterparts in Karachi, Pakistan.

The Aga Khan Unit for Housing and Urbanisation was established at Harvard's Graduate School of Design with a gift of U.S. $530,000.00 from Mowlana Hazar Imam to complement the work of the Aga Khan Programme for Islamic Architecture at Harvard. His Highness Prince Karim Al-Husayni Aga Khan became the 49th Imam of The Shia Ismaili Muslims.
