The Aga Khan Music Awards recognise outstanding creativity, promising talent and initiative in the fields of performance, creation, education, preservation and musical revitalisation in societies where Muslims have a significant presence. Awarded by the Aga Khan Music Initiative, prizes will be presented during a three-day free-entry ceremony that includes concerts, competitions and conferences.

It is an occasion of great significance in many ways. It is significant because of the cooperation many organisations and individuals who have made the establishment of the school and construction of this complex of buildings possible.

Hazar Imam attended Commonwealth Day at Westminster Abbey, London today March 11, 2019. In attendance also were dignitaries from all Commonwealth countries and the British Royal Family. Hazar Imam's family also attended including Princess Zahra, Prince Rahim and Princess Salwa.

The Commonwealth represents 53 countries and almost 2.4 billion people and 2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the modern Commonwealth, enabling cooperation towards social, political and economic development.

AGA KHAN FOUNDATION ESTABLISHED IN PORTUGAL

The Aga Khan Foundation, which is involved in the fields of health care, education and rural development, chiefly in Asia and Africa, has now been registered in Portugal, Mowlana Hazar Imam announced during His Silver Jubilee Visit to that country in February, 1983.

The Foundation has branches and affiliates in Kenya, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Britain, Canada and the United States.

Aga Khan Foundation channeled $700m of assistance to Afghanistan 2014-08-24

The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) and Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) have channeled roughly around $700 million of assistance to Afghanistan since the foundation begun it’s engagement in Afghanistan in 1995.

More than 2.5 million people have benefited from the assistance which mainly focuses on world development health care, education, financial services, mobile telephony and other sectors.
