2001 Aga Khan Award for Architecture Ceremony-2001-11-01
At a ceremony held in Syria at the historical Citadel of Aleppo, His Highness the Aga Khan announced the nine recipients of the 2001 Aga Khan Award for Architecture, and presented a special Chairman's Award to the Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa. The occasion completed the eighth cycle of the programme, which has a triennial prize fund of US$ 500,000, making it the world's largest architectural award. The Award programme will celebrate its twenty-fifth anniversary in 2003.

Akiyda Captures Prix de l'Arc - 1982-10-04
The Aga Khan's Akiyda made a bold move along the rail and won by a head from fast-closing Ardross today in the $285,000 Prix de l'Arc Triomphe at the Longchamps race course.
Akiyda was ridden by the top French jockey, Yves Saint-Martin, who posted his third triumph in this event, Europe's richest thoroughbred horse race.

India bags three Aga Khan awards for architecture-1998-11-02
India has bagged three of the seven Aga Khan Awards for Architecture for 1998.
The winning projects are civil engineer-town planner Himanshu Parikh's slum networking project at Indore, architect Charles Correa's Vidhan Bhavan at Bhopal and Norwegian architects Per Christian Brynildsen and Jan Olav Jensen's lepers' hospital in Chopda taluka in Maharashtra's Jalgaon district.
