The Beloved Imam of the Ismailis, Mowlana Sultan Mohamed Shah Passed away on July 11th, 1957. He appointed his grandson Mowlana Shah Karim Al-Hussayni age 20 to succeed him as Imam and Pir of all the ismailis of the world.
The historic time of transition had articles mourning Sir Sultan Mohamed Shah, speculating who the next Imam will be, and covering the funeral and release of the will.

Prince Rahim met with United Nations Secretary General Mr António Guterres at the UN’s Headquarters in New York
Posted February 11th, 2022 by librarian-hdPrince Rahim conveyed special greetings from Mawlana Hazar Imam, which the Secretary General warmly reciprocated.
During the meeting, Mr Guterres and Prince Rahim spoke about the longstanding partnership between the Aga Khan Development Network and the United Nations, and discussed ways in which to enhance collaboration between the agencies of the two institutions to improve the quality of life of marginalised communities in particular, in Asia and Africa.

Mawlana Hazar Imam meets Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo De Sousa in Lisbon
Posted February 5th, 2022 by librarian-hdMawlana Hazar Imam met with His Excellency Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, President of Portugal, in Lisbon on 4 February 2022.
During their meeting, Hazar Imam and President Marcelo spoke about several matters of mutual interest, including the presence and activities of the Ismaili Imamat and the Aga Khan Development Network in Portugal, Portuguese-speaking countries, and around the world.
Mawlana Hazar Imam was joined at the meeting by Princess Zahra and her daughter Miss Sara Boyden.

In the afternoon, Hazar Imam and Begum Salimah attended a Grand Durbar at the Aga Khan Gymkhana grounds. In the evening, Hazar Imam invited leading newspaper editors and reporters of Pakistan for an informal gathering. A Press Conference was held at Vazir Amirali Fancy's residence.

Posted July 10th, 2007 by heritageAddressing the concluding session of the two-day conference on Indigenous Philanthropy, Prince Karim Aga Khan said that philanthropic funding of social development is a new phenomenon extending increasingly to institutions engaged in human resources development. The conference was attended by about 300 participants representing reputed NGOs, experts from home and abroad, besides a number of donor agencies and foreign diplomats of whom the Canadian High Commissioner in Pakistan was seen as a guardian spirit.

AKTC rejuvenated Nizamuddin Basti project wins two UNESCO heritage awards

In double joy for India, a project on holistic urban revitalisation of the historic Nizamuddin Basti community in Delhi, has brought laurels for the country in two categories in this year's UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation.
The project has won the prestigious Award of Excellence, and another award in the Special Recognition for Sustainable Development category, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) said.

About a dozen Murids were waiting for hours in the winter cold weather to have a glimpse of their Imam outside the airport gate, they were there to welcome their Imam with a warm heart and happiness in their eyes!

The conference is organized by the British-Syrian Association in cooperation with the Office of Deputy Prime Minister. According to conference programme, Prince Rahim delivered his keynote address around 9:00am on Saturday 31st October.

The Aga Khan arrived on November 3rd late afternoon at Kabul Airport where he was welcomed by officials, including Mir Wais Zahir, the son of the King Mohammad Zahir Shah. Mukhi-Kamadia and various Ismaili institutional leaders also were present at the arrival. The Jamat was waiting on the sidewalk of the road leading from the airport to the city, and the Imam was very happy.
