Dalakhani justified his status as pre-race favourite as he held off a brave challenge from Mubtaker to win the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp. The French Derby winner - ridden by Christophe Soumillon - had to come in from stall 14, wide out on the right, but ran a well-paced race to take the lead with 300m remaining. The three-year-old is owned by the Aga Khan and trained in France by Alain de Royer-Dupre.
