Taj Mahal conservation could be handed over to the Aga Khan Foundation 2015-06-09
Posted June 10th, 2015 by librarian-ldIf the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) doesn't improve the quality of conservation of Taj Mahal, the monument's maintenance could be handed over to the Aga Khan Foundation.
Talking to India Today, a senior ASI official said that the Ministry of Culture is planning to portion out the monument, giving the maintenance of its various areas to different organizations on the grounds of a Corporate Social Responsibility campaign that began in 2013 with the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation signing up for the maintenance of the monument.

H.H. The Aga Khan has arrived in Lisbon, Portugal and was welcomed at the airport by Mnister was received by Pedro Mota Soares of the Government of Portugal. According to news received from Portugal newspapers, H.H. The Aga Khan, Imam of the Ismailis, will be moving some of his institutions in Portugal where he may also build a residence. H.H. The Aga Khan is expected in the Country this week and more news will be posted in this section starting today.
H.H. The Aga Khan is expected to make large investments in Portugal in the next 5 years.

He is expected to meet the Prime Minister Harper the same evening and work next day on other AKDN related subjects before returning to Toronto for his introduction of a talk by The Right Honourable Beverley McLachlin, P.C. The Minister of Antiquities, Mamdouh El Damaty, and the Governor of Cairo, Galal Said, joined His Highness the Aga Khan in marking the occasion at the Mosque.

Mr. Campbell is a former premier of British Columbia and Canada’s current High Commissioner in London.
Campbell was recently appointed by the Government of Canada as the country’s representative to the Ismaili Imamat and also serves as Canada’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.

H.H. The Aga Khan arrived at the Serena Kampala (Uganda) at 9:00pm local time this Tuesday 24th February 2015. The next day Mowlana Hazar Imam met His Excellency President Yoweri Museveni at the State House in Entebbe. On 26 February, he attended, with Princess Zahra, the AKU Convocation at 11:00 AM Kampala time (GMT+3).
