ANCIENT TRASH DUMP: Cairo's new 74-acre park, Al Azhar, is located on what was a centuries-old rubbish heap in the middle of Cairo's historic old city.

The 74-acre park with its undulating landscape of lawns, streams and lush vegetation, was a garbage dump.
