Aga Khan III, on board the Arankola, arrived in Rangoon -1914-02-06

February 6, 1914 (Friday) - Morning: Sir Sultan Mohamed Shah, Aga Khan III, on board the Arankola, arrived in Rangoon in the morning with his personal staff; Mr. Allibhoy Mohammad. He was met at the port with Reception Committee and the dignitaries of both the Ismaili Communities as well as Government dignitaries, and Muslim elders.
Then Mowlana Sultan Mohamed Shah was taken by the launch Industry to the Lewis Street jetty where a grand reception was given in his honour. After the reception, Mowlana Sultan Mohamed Shah was presented with a handsome silver casket by Mr. Jamal and then was escorted to a motor car which was then driven along strand Road, and briefly stopped at Messrs. Peer Mahomed's premises, where a huge banner of welcome swung across the decorated street. Mowlana Sultan Mohamed Shah stopped and was garlanded by Mr. Peer Mahommed then the car proceeded along the decorated streets to the Jamat Khana where a huge pandal was erected for the Didar to the Burmese Jamat.
