Aga Khan III Event - 1935

Summer 1935 - Sir Sultan Mohamed Shah, Aga Khan III's horse Bahram won The Triple Crown of the Turf - The Two Thousand Guineas, the Derby at Epsom and the St. Leger. At Derby, Bahram carried the supposed unlucky number 13. Thus for India this became the second Blue Riband for the second year in succession. After the Epsom Derby, Sir Sultan Mohamed Shah, Aga Khan III was personally congratulated by the King and later he was the King's guest at a dinner at Buckingham Palace where Sir Sultan Mohamed Shah, Aga Khan III's racing colours of green and chocolate were the colours of the table decorations. The next day, Sir Sultan Mohamed Shah, Aga Khan III and the Begum were guests of the British Prime Minister at 10 Downing Street. (link to c093msms)
