Jem Jem Jugatsu Preet Karevaa - Translation A

JEM JEM JUGATSU PREET KAREVAA
BY PEER SADARDEEN

ejee jem jem jugtasu(n) preet karevaa
tem tem raiyann veeyaannee jee...............................1

As your love (for the Lord) increases through worship
(or in this world), your night (state of darkness of
ignorance and doubt) will end.

ejee harohar daataar samareeyaa naahee
to janam ere tenu(n) jaayajee................................2

The ones who have not remembered (the name of) the
Protector and Provider regularly, have wasted this precious
opportunity (for a higher life) in this lifetime.

ejee karannee naa hinnaa hari ghar bhulyaa shaah ghar bhulyaa
to gurnarkaa melaa tekhe naahijee............................3

The ones who are deficient in their deeds (or ritual duties),
have forgotten (strayed away) from the house of the Lord,
and indeed the house of the Imaam. Therefore they will not
have the (exalted) gathering with the 'gurnar' (Imaam and peer).

ejee enne sapanaatar je jeev bhulyaa bhaai je jeev raachyaa
bhaai mat tinu ne haraai jee.................................4

raachyaa - to be pleased

The souls that have forgotten (engrossed themselves) in this dreamlike
illusory existence and are satisfied and pleased with it, brothers,
have lost the (benefits of the invaluable) advices.

ejee karo karannee kuchh samar lenaa
to palatra hoise bhalaai jee.................................5

Perform good deeds so that you may take along with you
something of the provision for the hereafter which will
become very pleasant and rewarding as a consequence.

ejee naam parsaade shaah haatheeddu(n) dese
tthaam dese seeree-e islaam shaah jee........................6

Through the blessings of (the remembrance of) the name,
the Imaam will offer His hand (assistance). And indeed
Sree Islaamshaah will provide the (exalted) abode.

ejee geenaan amee mahaaras bolyaa gur sohdev
aagam levo vichaaree........................................7

This geenaan which is full of sweet juice and nector and is
the water of life, is said by the Guide Peer Sadardeen.
Take these valuable thoughts of the past
(they have stood the test of time).
