N. Dar Bayaane Ba(N)Dagee Va Nekee - Servanthood And Purity

namaaz karate jo kaahelee kare, use eemaan thoddaa;
dunee-aame(n) to bohot lobhaayaa, aakabat kaam chhoddaa;
namaaz ba(n)dageese kaahelee kare, or kare duneeyaa dha(n)dhaa;
to us upar eemaan nahee, jeeskaa hae tu(n) ba(n)daa.............161

The one who delays in performing prayers, is deficient in his Faith. In this world many have fallen into temptation and have abandoned the work of hereafter. The one who delays in performing his prayer and servanthood and instead involves himself in worldly work, has no Faith upon the One whose creature you are.

baddee fazar jaage ne ba(n)dagee kare, to tu(n) nekee kamaayaa;
jo ees vellaa-e jaagyaa, so ba(n)dageese nekee paayaa;
subhu saadhak jaago bhaaee, karo zeekar eelaahee;
namaaz tasbee ba(n)dageese(n)thee, hove deel safaaee............162

The one who remains awake in the early hours of the morning and performs his servanthood, has indeed earned for himself purity. If he remains awake at this time, he has attained through servanthood purity. Remain awake at the early hours of the morning brothers, perform the remembrance of God. Through prayers, rosary (remembrance), and servanthood the heart is purified.

jo namaaz ba(n)dagee hakakee kare, so utthe beech a(n)dheree raen;
so nafal namaaz paa(n)chthee adakee kare, ke paa(n)ch to hae karaj den;
vaebee namaaz raatme(n) kee-ese, roshan hove usakaa deel;
us roshaneese kaam aysaa suje, jo na aave us upar rabakee rees..163

If one performs prayers and servanthood of the Truth, and wakes up in the middle of the dark night, through this servanthood and prayer he overcomes the effects of the five evils(i.e, lust, anger, greed, pride and attraction for the world), for the five evils are debtors. By performing prayer at night, he enlightens his heart and through that light he is inspired to such action, that will never attract the wrath of the Lord.

aachhee ba(n)dagee eebaadat vae, jo sabsu(n) chhupaa kar karee-e;
keesee ba(n)deku(n) na jannaaee-e, apane khudaaysu(n) ddaree-e;
ba(n)dagee nekee khudaae kaaje karee-e, na baddaa karan apanaa naam;
jo khudaae kaarann kaam karee-e, to dargaahme(n) hove kabul tamaam.......164

The perfect servanthood and spiritual discipline is that which is performed without anyone's knowing, do not let any creature know about it and fear your God. Perform pure servanthood for sake of God and not for glorification of your name. If work is performed for the sake of God, then it will be accepted in His presence.

jeene umaroho la(m)bee paaee, or saaree umar raen deen ba(n)dagee keetee allaah;
to nabeeyu(n)kaa saro paae jaano, us ba(n)deku(n) sahee meelaa;
nabeeyuku(n) baddaaee rabane deetee, sab umat upar kee-e sardaar;
to jo koee chalannee unu(n)kee chale, so makabul hove rab darbaar.............165

Those who have attained advanced age and have spent their entire lives day and night in servanthood to God, have attained the attributes of the prophets from head to feet, these servants have gained all. The Lord bestowed greatness upon the prophets so that they could exercise leadership upon the entire community. Then those who follow their footsteps, they are accepted in the Lord's festive gathering(darbaar).

gaee umarohme(n) jo kaam na kee-aa, so aakharatme(n) kar le sheetaab;
etee umar gaee baakee jaaesee, keeyu(n) sotaa hae bhar khwaab;
umaro dekho jaave chalee, cheto karo nek kamaaee;
dunee-aa baazaarme(n) koee kamaayaa, keene pu(n)jee aap gamaaee.166

If in the past you have not done anything worthwhile, then for the hereafter do it quickly. Part of your life has gone by, what remains will go, why are you asleep in deep dream? Observe life, it passes by, take heed and do pure deeds. In the market of the world, some gain, others lose their capital.

roshan kar bhaaee kabar teree, ke neet utth namaaz kar beech raen a(n)dheree;
a(n)dheree raen beech namaaz kee-ese, roshan hove sahee kabar teree;
namaaz nafal kar aadhee raatku(n), khudaake been na buje koy;
maulaa farmaave ke kabar teree, ees namaazse sahee roshan hoy...167

Enlighten your grave, brother, wake up always and perform prayers in the middle of the dark night. In the dark night, having performed your prayer, your grave will truly be enlightened. Perform your prayer and servanthood in the middle of the night in such a manner that besides God, nobody else knows. Hazarat Aly(Mawlaa) says that your grave, by such prayer, is truly enlightened.

moman mo(n)ho upar nur adakeraa, jo beech raat utth kare kamaaee;
raatkee ba(n)dagee deenme(n) deese, ke karanhaarke mo(n)ho upar hove roshanaaee;
keeyaamatke din koee mo(n)ho kaale, koee mo(n)ho hove safed;
vae jeene raatme(n) ba(n)dagee keetee, saache seedakase une paaee umed............168

On the face of a believer(momin), there is more light(Noor); if in the middle of the night he wakes up to gain profit. The night's servanthood shows during the day, for the face of the one who practices is enlightened. On the Day of Judgement(Qiyaamaa), some faces will be black, other faces will be white. Those who have performed servanthood at night, have attained their desire with True Conviction.

sab din peechhe raat hae, dinku(n) karo aap kamaaee dha(n)dhaa;
raatku(n) baettho aaraamse, japo usaku(n) jeesakaa hae tu(n) ba(n)daa;
dunee-aa lok kahe pett dha(n)dhaa laagaa, kab baetthe ham khudaaeke gael;
maulaa farmaave jo velaa dha(n)dhaa nahee, rabku(n) sa(m)bhaaro beech a(n)dheree lael....169

After each day there is night, during the day earn your living. At night sit restfully, remember Him whose creature you are. The people of the world say we work for the stomach, when can we sit and think of God? Mawlaa(Hazarat Aly) says, early when there is no work, remember God in the dark night.

maeraaj khudaakaa rasul paayaa, jeene sab raat keetee hak ba(n)dagee;
so maeraaj momeenku(n) hove, jo deelse neekaale sab duneeyaa ga(n)dakee;
raatku(n) jaage ek dhee-aansu(n), payarvee rasulkee kare keerdaar;
to us momanku(n) maeraaj hove, apane rabakaa deedaar............170

The Messenger(rasul) attained the ascension(maeraaj) of God, he performed the true servanthood every night. This ascension is possible for a momin, if from his heart he removes all the dirt of the world. At night he stays up with concentration and follows the path of the Messenger to the Creator. Then this momin experiences the Ascension by virtue of his Lord's Vision (deedaar).

raen maratabaa bahot baddaa hae, sab khalkat paave aaraam;
peer payga(m)bar valee olee-aa, raat ba(n)dageese sab paae naam;
maeraaj rasul bee raatme(n) paayaa, aashak varal paave maashuk;
jo tu(n) saach-chaa aashak-kaa, to raen ba(n)dageese mat chuk...171

The status of night is great, the entire creation attains rest therein. Peers, Prophets, Friends and Saints, have through servanthood attained the Name. The Messenger also attained maeraaj(ascension) at night and the lover attains union with the Beloved. If you are a true lover, then do not miss the night's servanthood.

sab deel meene lagan hae, pann bhalaa deel vae jees deel hae lagan keerataar;
or laganme(n) paddaa so ddubaa, rabakee lagan bhalee jo utaare paar;
lagan beenaa koee deel khaalee nahee, been lagan to deel rahe udaas;
saache saa(n)heesu(n) jo lagan baa(n)dho, to zeekar karo saas usaas...........172

Within all hearts there is love, but the hearts that have the love for the Creator are better. Those who have loved other (than God), have sunk, but the love of the Lord is better for it enables you to cross over the limits. No heart is empty of love, without love, the heart remains sad. If you feel love for the True Lord, perform remembrance(zikr) upon every breath.

rahemat rabakee vae koee paave, je koee zeekar kare haradam;
jo ek dam zeekar karanese(n) chukaa, to khushee na paave leekaave gam;
rab dargaah haajar vae, jo haradam zeekar kare kasab;
jo ek dam zeekar karanese(n) chukaa, to rab kare us upar gajab..173

The recipients of the Lord's mercy are those who perform remembrance(zikr) upon every breath. If for one breath, remembrance is missed, then happiness is not attained, pain is written. In the Lord's dwelling, are present those who perform remembrance upon every breath during their work. If for one breath zikr is missed, then the wrath of Lord will be upon them.

khudaakee gaer mohobatse, jeene deel kee-aa hae khaalee;
ke dunee-aakee mahobat saaree, apanee deelthee ttaalee;
ees reet deel khaalee karanaa, kheesaa bharanese hae khaasaa;
maal ghannese hae e bhalaa, jo tutte mankee aashaa..............174

For the love of other than God, those who have emptied their hearts, have indeed removed from their hearts all the love for the world. Emptying the heart in this manner is better than filling the pockets. Better than too many possessions is that which breaks one's (worldly) desires of the mind.

jo bahest chaaho to takvaa pakaddo, jeeyu(n) raho gunaahthee paak;
ke bahest hae jaage paaku(n)kee, vaa(n)haa(n) mushako a(m)barkee beechhaaee hae khaak;
dolatma(n)dke gharame(n) jeeyu(n) petthanne na paa-o, jo paa(n)u tumaare laagee hoe keech;
to motee laalke mee(n)dar kasturee jameen, gunaa melasu(n) keeyu(n) paetthaa aysee janat beech..175

If you desire paradise, take hold of piety, thereby you will remain pure of sin. For paradise is a place for the pure, where ashes of musk and amber are spread. You would not set your feet upon a rich man's house if your feet were covered with mud. Then at the Jeweller's(Lord's) residence where earth is perfumed, how could you enter such a paradise with the dirt of your sins?

takvaa karo khudaaesu(n) ddaro, ba(n)dagee karo jeeyu(n) hae farmaayaa;
allaah ek jaann jeene ba(n)dagee keetee, baddaa martabaa to une paayaa;
haraamthee bhaago halaal khaa-o, jetaa hae farmaayaa khaannaa;
vo halaal bee samaj kar khaaee-e, ke lekhe velaa hae lekhaa sunnaannaa........176

Perform piety and fear God, perform servanthood as commanded(by the Imaam of the time). Knowing God as one, the one who has performed servanthood, has indeed attained a high status. Run away from the unlawful and consume that which is lawful, eat in a manner that is commanded. Also consume as lawful that which will be accounted as fair on the Day of accountability.

ronaa maradakaa vae saachaa, jo khudaaeke ddarse rove;
so ronaa to laabh deve, ke ttha(n)ddaaee a(n)khee-aa(n)ku(n) hove;
khudaaeke ddarsu(n) jo koee rove, usake nenu(n)ku(n) hove ttha(n)ddaaee;
jo khof khudaaeke ddarse karo, to fale tumaaree nek kamaaee.....177

The crying of a man is real if he cries for the fear of God. Such crying will yield immense benefit and will cool your eyes. The one who cries for fear of God, will have his eyes cooled. If you fear God then your pure earnings will reap fruits.

khudaaekaa ddar jees deel vase, vae deel neet hove ujaas;
jeete deel apanaa ujaase-aa, deedaarkee to use pugee aash;
deel aareesaa deedaarkaa, jeene ujaasee-aa teenke pure bhaag;
rabake ddarse deel ujaaso, sotaa kayu(n) hae gaafal jaag........178

The heart that is resided by the fear of God, is the heart that is always enlightened. The one who has enlightened his heart, the desire for the Vision(Deedaar) has reached him. The heart is the mirror of Deedaar, the one whose heart is enlightened is very fortunate. With fear of God, enlighten your hearts; why are you asleep, o negligent one, wake up.

darro khudaaeke khofase, to raho sahee beech amano amaan;
sab zaalamse e ddar bachaave, tumaaraa hove neegehabaan;
khudaaese ddare so farmaayaa kare, na kare kuchh or amal;
na sharaab peeve na bee-aaj khaave, to haakam pakadde use keesa badal........179

Fear God, then you will remain in the midst of the ocean of peace. This fear will save you from all evil, it will be your protector. The one who fears God, acts according to His commands, and does not do anything else. He does not drink alcohol nor charges high interest. The why should the law keeper arrest him?

taazagee to hove momeen mo(n)ho upar, jo ddar khudaaekaa hove us deel;
ke khudaaeke ddarthee badee na kare, or aachhe kaam kare teel teel;
ghatt momeenkaa ma(n)deer hae, ddar khudaaekaa hae deevaa bheetar;
ke jees mee(n)darme(n) deevaa jale, to baaherthee roshan deese vae mee(n)dar...180

Vitality shows upon the face of a momin, if God's fear is in his heart. For fear of God, he does not perform evil and does pure actions always. The heart of a momin is a temple and inside it the fear of God is the lamp. The interior in which the lamp shines, that interior is revealed from outside as enlightened(from the face of a momin).

jees mee(n)darme(n) deevaa roshan, vae mee(n)dar deese sadaa ujaash;
us mee(n)darme(n) raajaa aave, neekal jaave sab chor neeraash;
aabaad raheve mee(n)dar soee, rahenhaare paave sukh or chen;
dhannee nafar do meel kar baetthe, khushee mane deen or raen....181

The interior in which the lamp shines, is the interior which is always enlightened. In such an interior, the King comes and resides and all the thieves of despair leave. This interior remains prosperous in truth, and the person attains peace and happiness. The master and the servant both meet and seat therein, and the person enjoys happiness day and night.

karaj chukaanaa aapannaa, e bee hae deenakaa kaam;
ke paarkee damaddee, aap upar na raakhee-e vaam;
deenakaa kaam to bahot bahoteraa, pann e sabase hae badderaa;
jo faramaayaa shaahe oleeyaa, hazarat alee saveraa..............182

To discharge off one's debt is also a religious deed. Never keep someone else's burden upon you. There are many religious deeds, but this is the greatest of all. This is said by the Lord of the saints, Hazarat Aly very early.

barakat hove maalme(n) usake, jo koee deve jakaat;
jakaat dee-e barakat maalkee, sahee kar maano e baat;
jakaat soho(100) upar addaaee, jo gujare ek saal;
jeene dee-aa eemaansu(n), usakaa halaal huaa maal...............183

Prosperity is upon the wealth of the one who pays zakaat. Zakaat gives prosperity to wealth, know this as truth. Zakaat is 2.5% if given annually. Those who give it with Faith, their wealth becomes lawful.

tavak-kal karo khudaa-e upar, to hove kaam tamaam;
utam kaam jo karane chaaho, to neet lenaa khudaa-ekaa naam;
jo kaam karo so so(m)po saahebaku(n), ke tu(n)hee kare so khaasaa;
to sab kaam hove khaasaa, or puge manakee aashaa................184

Rely upon God, then you will have done the most wholesome deed. If you desire to perform the most exalted deed, remember God always. If you perform any work, then live it to the Lord, and say: "whatever you will, is best". Then all your work will be meaningful and your wishes will be fulfilled.

tan man or praannku(n) to, khaane peenese(n)thee hove aahaar;
ane jeevku(n) to aachhaa avaaj sunneene, hove aadhaar;
naam eelaahee ne kalaam rabaanee, aachhe avaajthee paddo geenaan;
jeevannaa to sukh hove, or manakaa tutte abheemaan..............185

Body, mind and (physical)life are nourished by food and drink. The soul is nourished by pure sound. The name of God and the sayings of the Lord, recite these and the Geenaans(wisdom and knowledge) with pure and sweet sound. Then your soul will be happy and the ego of the mind will be broken.

deen apanaa dost karo, jo dostee tum kee-aa chaaho;
sabathee bhalaa dost deen hae, jeesathee sab tthaam chhottakaa paa-o;
namaaz paddo rozaa raakho, sab ba(n)dagee karo jeeyu(n) hae farmaayaa;
sharaab bee-aaj or jo manaa hae, so chhodo to sab tthaam chhottakaa paayaa.......186

Befriend your religion, and love that which you have befriended. The best friend of all is religion, by which you will attain the entire abode(of paradise) quickly. Say your prayers, observe the fasts, and perform the entire servanthood as commanded. Alcoholism, excessive interest and all other prohibitions, abandon them, then you will attain the entire abode(of paradise) quickly.

jo aap deen khubee chaaho to neet utth kar adakee karo keeree-aa;
keeree-aa beddeeme(n) je koee chadde, use bohot laabh desee e deen dareeyaa;
or deenakaa fasaad laalachse(n) hae, laalachse(n) hove deen bha(n)gaann;
jo aap heesaabthee adakaa lennaa, laalachse(n) sajaann hove ajaann.....187

If you desire the mysteries of your religion, then always rise up and perform more rites and rituals. The one who boards the boat of rites and rituals, is given a lot of merits by the ocean of religion. And the obstacle (on the path) of religion is from temptation, by temptation religion is ruined. If you take more through deception and cheating, then as a result of temptation, one who is aware and knowledgeable become blind and ignorant.

paho(n)chyaa makasud donu jahaankaa, jeene fateh paaee apanne deen;
ke deenakee dostee us deel vasee, dunee-aa chhodd deen une leen;
jees upar karam hove rabakaa, usaku(n) suje aachhee feekar;
ke deen maannak to aap leve, chhodd deve dunee-aa pathar........188

Those who have fulfilled the purpose of both worlds, are the ones who have attained success in their religion. For the friendship of religion resides in the hearts of those who have abandoned the world and have taken up religion. Those who have the mercy of the Lord upon them, are inspired towards pure thinking. They acquire rubies of religion for themselves and discard the stones of the world.

deen maannak erfaan eelaahee, dunee-aa pathar dunee-aakee chaah;
chaudaa tabaka lag jo jo nyaamat, so sab jaanno dunee-aa fanaah;
khudaa to hae sabase nyaaraa, or jo pasaree-aa so rabakaa nur;
jo deha ma(n)e panase haath utthaa-o, to baakee hae so rabakaa zahur........189

The jewel of religion is the Divine gnosis and the stone of the world is the love for the world. (Through this jewel) boons are derived for the fourteen levels, whereas the entire world will perish. God is beyond everything and whatever is spread is the Lord's light. If we free ourselves from the york of the body and the ego, then what remains is the revelation of the Lord.
