SAT-GUR PADHAAREAA TAME JAAGAJO - PEER NUR SATGUR

ejee sat-gur padhaareaa tame jaagajo

ruddaa muneevar bhaaee jee;

addasatth teerath ghar ne aa(ng)anne,

ga(n)gaa jamanaa su(n) bhareaa jee;

naayaa te niramal thiyaa

kuddaa nar-haree thee vegalaa raheaa.........................1

The True Guide has come, so awake, o fair brother in faith. The sixty-eight places of pilgrimage are in the courtyard of your house, which is filled with the Ganges and Yamuna. Those who bathe therein become pure, while the false remain distant from the Divine Being.

ejee gat re sarovar maa(n)he jheelataa(n),

motee amulak laadhaa jee;

jatan kareene motee raakhajo,

to mul adhakeraa aave;

sat samajeene rahee-e,

avar dujaa ne naa kahee-e....................................2

O community, by bathing in the lake, precious pearls are found. Make efforts to guard those pearls, then an abundant price will be gained. Dwell in understanding of the truth, but do not disclose it to others.

ejee u(n)chaa u(n)chaa nar ujalaa,

deese keeree-aa naa heennaa jee;

paarake mi(n)daree-e paakha(n)dd kare,

jaase ghoddam ghodd;

ek thee dujaa ne naa game,

bhagatee thee vegalaa bhame..................................3

Some men are lofty in station and glorious, but are seen to be deficient in practice. At others' places of worship they practice deceit, and they will go to utter darkness. They do not care for each other and wander distant from true devotion.

ejee man ne maaro to gur kahe mane malo,

raakhu(n) maaraa tanaddaa maa(n)he ttaa(n)kee jee;

heeralo aaveo taaraa haath maa(n),

jo jo veeraa ginaan veechaaree;

vannaj kare te vehevaareeo,

laeene na aape te deevaaree-o................................4

The Guide says: if you subdue your passions, you may come to Me, and I shall keep you close to My side. A diamond comes into your hands, brother, when you reflect upon His wisdom: he who deals with it is an honest trader, but he who does not deliver what he has borrowed becomes bankrupt.

ejee nur sat-gur bolea veenatee,

saa(n)bhalo gat jamaath jee;

daso(n)d dejo apannaa gur-mukhe,

to utaraso paele paar;

saachee sukareet laeene chaalajo,

nahee(n) to paddaso lakh choraasee maa(n)e jee...............5

Nur Satgur has uttered this entreaty, so listen, o community and congregation! If you pay the tithe to your Guide, you will be delivered across to the other side. Go forth with true good deeds, for otherwise you will fall into the eighty-four lakhs.
