Two new floors will be added to the Aga Khan Hospital Doctors Plaza in Nairobi to create space for an additional 42 consulting rooms for doctors.
The agreement for the Sh60 million project was signed by Nizar Juma, the former chairman of the Aga Khan Health Services and Kirit Patel of Laxmanbhai Construction Limited

The contractor estimates it will take four and a half months to complete one new floor at the Doctors' Plaza and both floors should be ready by the end of March 2004. All the doctors on the ground floor will move to the new rooms to create space for a new project known as 'The Health Village'.

It is anticipated that the Cardiac Ambulatory Clinic will be moved from the Princess Zahra Pavilion to the Health Village.

This will also include a food court and a business centre. Already this floor accommodates the Hospital's second pharmacy, physiotherapy, the dental clinic and a cafeteria.

Currently the three-storey Doctors Plaza houses 75 consultants and the facility provides patients with access to a wide range of quality care services under one roof.
