RIA Novosti. Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will take part in the session of the International Conference on Afghanistan held in Berlin. The first day of the conference which opened on March 31 was devoted to the economic rehabilitation of the country, while on the second day delegates from 50 countries and ten organisations will discuss security, law, reforms and future challenges to Afghanistan.
The key issues will be the struggle against terrorism, demilitarisation, return to peaceful life, the creation of the country's armed and security forces, as well as anti-drug efforts. A joint document is to be adopted on the results of the conference.

Sergei Lavrov said before it that Russia shares the stand put forth in the final document and regards it as the basis for the continued assistance to the political and economic rehabilitation of Afghanistan.

Apart from the conference meetings, on April 1 Lavrov plans to talk with Afghan Foreign Minister Dr Abdullah and his Canadian and Australian counterparts, as well as Karim Aga Khan IV, president of the Aga Khan Foundation, and Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing.

In the afternoon, the Russian Foreign Minister will go to Brussels, where he will attend the April 2 session of the NATO-Russia Council.
