The spiritual leader of Ismaili Muslims His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan departed Damascus yesterday morning at the end of a three-day visit.He was seen off at Damascus International Airport by Minister of Health Mohammed Iyad Alshatty and the AKDN representative in Syria Mr Mohammed Saifo.

Prime Minister Mohammad Naji Otri on Sunday held a meeting with Secretary General of the Arab Railways Federation (ARF) Mr. Murhaf Sabouni.

The two sides discussed the federationõs role and the efforts exerted to develop the railways transport system, and to achieve integration among the Arab railway transport network.
The procedures taken to prepare for the celebration of the 25th foundation anniversary of the Federation were also discussed.

Otri also received Prince Kareem Agha Khan.
Talks during the meeting dealt with the current cooperation between the Government and Agha Khan Network for development in the domains of development, education, culture, tourism and the projects of rural development.
They also reviewed the activities provided by the Network including humane and social services and the means of expanding their future horizons.
Later, Agha Khan received evening at his residence Tourism Minister Saõadallah Agha al-Qalõa.
Talks dealt with the cooperation between the two sides in the field of developing tourism in Syria.
It is worthy to note that the Agha Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC) is carrying out restoration works in three Syrian citadels, namely Aleppo, Masyaf and Salah Ed-din.
