THE Serena Group has set up a second hotel in the country, the Lake Victoria Serena Resort. The resort, which is part of the Aga Khan economic empire, lies on an expansive piece of land measuring 275 acres on the shores of Lake Victoria.

President Yoweri Museveni yesterday presided over the official opening.

Management’s intension is that the renovated Polana Serena Hotel should become a flagship property second to none in Mozambique. It must take its place with our other city-centre Serena Hotels in Nairobi, Arusha, Kampala, Kigali, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Quetta and Kabul.

Kampala, Uganda: HH Aga Khan opened the Serena Hotel with President Yoweri Museveni.

Tajikistan - H.H. The Aga Khan visited Tajikistan. He joined President Rahmonov on the 30th in a groundbreaking ceremony for a world-class Serena Hotel in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The same day the two also visited the Ismaili Center construction site in Dushanbe. Next day on October 31st, President Rahmonov and His Highness leave for Gorno Badakhshan to inaugurate a bridge across the Panj River in the Ishkashim district. The Aga Khan is also visiting the Pamirs Botanical Gardens and the site of the future campus of the University of Central Asia (UCA) in Khorog.
