Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen,

On behalf of His Highness the Aga Khan, I thank the Governments of Germany, Qatar, the United Kingdom, as well as the United Nations, for convening this meeting at a time when so many Afghans are in peril.

Prince Karim Aga Khan, leader of the Ismaili Muslims hailed the former Afghan President Hamid Karzai for his efforts in reconstruction of Afghanistan.

The President Palace media office following a statement said Prince Karim Aga Khan met with the former president Hamid Karzai on Monday.

Prince Aga Khan was among the several foreign dinitaries who attended the presidential inauguration which was the first peaceful transition of power in the history of Afghanistan.
