Nahmaduhu wa Nusalle ala Rasolehel Karim

A message from the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan
on the Occasion of the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Imamat
of His Highness Prince Aga Khan,
the Forty-Ninth Imam of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims

His Highness the Aga Khan is one of the greatest religious figures and philanthropists in the contemporary world.

His service to the deprived and destitute, particularly in this region, is deeply admired and respected.

Over the course of the last three decades, as our country suffered from crises and fighting, his institutions, acting with the highest levels of integrity, provided services in some of the most remote and impoverished regions of Afghanistan. Over the last five years, under the direction of His Highness Prince Aga Khan, the forty-ninth Imam of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims, his network has undertaken very useful and significant initiatives, which are viewed with the greatest admiration and gratitude by the people of Afghanistan.

I offer my sincerest congratulations to the Ismailis of Afghanistan and of the entire world on the occasion of His Highness Prince Aga Khan’s fiftieth anniversary. I pray that Allah bless His Highness with continued good health and prosperity, and increased success in his service to those in needs around the world.

Hamid Karzai
President
Islamic Republic of Afghanistan
