Vazirabad won the first race - the Qatar Prix de Chaudenay. Candariliya followed with another impressive come-from-behind win in the 3rd race - the Qatar Prix de Royallieu. Princess Zahra with Princess Sara accepted both the winner's prizes. Christophe Soumillon was the jockey in both races

Breeding rights and shares in up-and-coming stallions dominated the first Tattersalls Online Sale of 2023, with a share in Zarak topping the bill at 350,000gns.

His early success has made the Aga Khan's homebred sire one of the most sought-after in Europe and the share, for 1/50th of the Group 1 winner, was purchased by Blandford Bloodstock on behalf of Andrew Black's Chasemore Farm.

An all-female team has won the Nations Cup Jumping for the first time in its 91-year history.

Piled on pressure

It was Team USA who took the title in the final leg of the FEI Nations Cup Jumping Europe Division 1 League in Dublin, finishing on a zero score.

The Netherlands and France threw down a challenge in the closing stages of the competition, which piled the pressure on American anchor Laura Kraut. However, the double-Olympian was more than up to the task and posted the second US double clear of the competition riding Confu, to secure victory.
