14th June, 2005: H.H. The Aga Khan and Princess Zahra were in York where

master trainer Andre Fabre. “I never had horses with him until I bought
the Lagardere horses this year,” he said, referring to his purchase of the
late Jean-Luc Lagardere racehorses and breeding stock. “He is a horse that has
surprised me because of the way he has improved,” added the Aga, whose
Irish star Azamour runs in the feature race the Group One Prince of Wales

Stakes on 15th June 2005. Azamour, the horse of The Aga Khan, won the
Royal Ascot exactely a year ago. "John wanted to have a final crack at a
mile before going further. I think he will certainly go more than a mile," winning owner the Aga Khan said at that time.

Valixir, trained in France for the Aga Khan, swooped to conquer the biggest prize
of this historic day and Christophe Soumillon, the Belgian on board,
hurled his whip into the crowd euphorically....)
