2008, May 1: Mowlana Hazar Imam gave a few minutes Mulakat to about 20 Ismailis at the Abidjan airport before departure. He thanked the Jamat for their warm welcome and told the kids to work hard in school. He talked with some members of the Jamat including kids and left for Senegal.

2008, October 30: Prince Aga Khan pays visit to Kazakhstan - One of the World famous patrons of art, Prince Karim Aga Khan VI has paid a visit to Kazakhstan. He is one of the descendants of the Prophet Mohammed and he is also the Imam of the Muslim and Shiite community of the Ismaili. His Excellency was welcomed to the Ak Orda residence by Nursultan Nazarbayev. The Prince is also the founder and one of the sponsors of many charity projects carried out in many countries including the CIS and some Central Asian states.

2007, December 19 : Iranian archeologists have discovered two interconnected Ismaili cellars dating back to 5th - 7th centuries in the vicinity of the historical castle of Alamout, 100 km from Tehran during the excavation of the northern gate of the fortress intended to study the Safavid era strata of the castle. The fortress was once the headquarters of the Ismaili sect, led by Hassan Sabbah between the 11th and 13th centuries. TE/HGH

2008, January 7: : ISLAMABAD: Prince Aga Khan has condoled with the Co-Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party, Senator Asif Ali Zardari over the death of his wife Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed. His Highness Aga Khan in a condolence letter wrote, 'It was with immense sadness that I learnt that Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto had passed away in the most tragic circumstances. To you and your family, I express my deepest and most heartfelt condolences.

2008, May 14:Mowlana Hazar Imam arrived at Airport at 8:30 PM, waved to Ismailis who lined up for 2 Km. Buses brought Jamats to airport, Hazar Imam leaned out and waved with his right hand. Girl guides and scouts were in the front. Jamats returning were congratulated for first Deedar of Golden Jubilee in Mumbay.
