2009, April 30: Aleppo, Syria: (SANA)-Prime Minister Mohammad Naji Ottri discussed Thursday with Prince Rahim Karem Agha Khan cooperation between the Syrian government and Agha Khan Development Network, and the importance of its developmental and social projects in Syria. Both sides reviewed the situation and stages of the projects being implemented by the Network in Aleppo and their positive impact on boosting social and tourist development in the Syrian second city.

2007, August 18:'His Highness The Aga Khan is due to arrive in Uganda this Sunday, August 19, at 10:30 a.m. till August 23 when he will finish his tour in East Africa,' Mr Mahmood Ahmed, the resident representative of The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), told journalists in Kampala yesterday. The Aga Khan arrives in Syria, August 2008, and is received at Damascus International Airport by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Abdullah al-Dardari, Minister of Tourism Dr. Saadullah Agha al-Qala'a and Resident Representative of AKDN in Syria Mohammad Mufdi Seifo. April 17 - The Aga Khan, head of the world's 15 million Ismaili Muslims, arrived at Fulton County Airport today to celebrate with his Georgia followers his 50th anniversary as their leader. A band greeted him with the Ismaili anthem and the U.S. national anthem, and a representative from Gov. Sonny Perdue's office as well as local politicians were on hand to welcome him. His Highness the Aga Khan also visited the Residence of the Governer of Georgia.

April 12 - His Highness the Aga Khan and Princess Zahra began their day with a visit to the State Capitol and a meeting with Governor Rick Perry of Texas. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the University of Texas and the Aga Khan University. 2009, July 26: Nairobi - Kenya. H.H. The Aga Khan and Princess Zahra visited the AKUH this afternoon as part of a working visit in the region for AKDN projects. Several hundreds people were standing for hours on 3rd Parklands to welcome him. To their surprise, His Highness, accompanied with Princess Zahra, Ambassador Dehlavi of the Board of Trustee, Dr. Firoz Rasul, Asmita Gilani and other high level AKU staff walked on 3rd Parklands street. It was a follow-up to their earlier meeting in December 2008 when the Aga Khan visited Singapore as part of his Golden Jubilee celebrations. About a dozen Murids were waiting for hours in the winter cold weather to have a glimpse of their Imam outside the airport gate, they were there to welcome their Imam with a warm heart and happiness in their eyes!
