TORONTO, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- China's active role in cross- cultural exchange and trade in the 9th century is explored here in The Lost Dhow exhibition that runs until April 26, 2015.
The new Aga Khan Museum in Toronto plays host to the extraordinary exhibition of artifacts from a 9th-century Arab dhow, which was discovered in 1998 at the bottom of the Indian Ocean in the western Java Sea.

Speech by His Highness the Aga Khan at the Ceremony Conferring the Honorary Doctorate at the University of Ottawa 2012-01-13Posted January 2nd, 2015 by librarian-ld
Permettez-moi d'exprimer avant toute chose ma profonde reconnaissance pour l'insigne honneur que vous me faites.
As we meet here tonight, a deeply moving occasion for me, my thoughts turned first of all to my late Beloved Father who would have been so encouraged to see such a large gathering of Ismailis concentrated in a new land where they have never been before and as I think of my Late Father, I am greatly encouraged by the strength, the resilience, the tremendous ability to adapt, that all of you here have shown in settling in this great, this wonderful country.
