The Shia Ismaili Muslim community has asked Ugandans to venture into commercial tree growing so as to tap into the carbon market, which is now estimated to be standing around $3 trillion.

The fight against the coronavirus disease in Uganda has crippled the education sector, mainly early childhood development among others in relation to social and economic issues. Today, the Aga Khan development network, in partnership with European Union, have launched a 9.3 million euro East African regional fund to counter this challenge.

The Aga Khan Foundation Uganda and Triggerise, a non-profit company that developed the user-centric digital platform, TIKO, have launched a new campaign in Kampala and Arua to increase youth’s access to reproductive health services.

The purpose: empower young people with relevant information to fight unplanned teenage pregnancies.
The new campaign in the two cities is jointly bankrolled by the Aga Khan Foundation UK and Children’s Investment Fund Foundation.

Young Ismaili Muslim volunteers on Saturday distributed, milk, soft drinks and a hearty meal to orphaned and vulnerable Muslim children living at the Kasangati Orphan Fans Society in Kawanda, Wakiso District.

“This work is part of the civil society support and engagement which we carry out in different parts of the country to promote the spirit of humanity as propagated by Islam. Today, we are distributing Iftar dinner for this orphanage, which houses 700 children.

Over 113 students on Saturday graduated with degrees and diplomas in Advanced Nursing Studies during the 6th graduation ceremony of Aga Khan University at Serena Hotel, Kampala.
