On the first day of an official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic, His Highness the Aga Khan was presented the Order of Danaker by His Excellency Almazbek Atambayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic. The order is the country’s highest recognition given to a foreign citizen for contributions to the strengthening of peace, friendship and cooperation between peoples and for working towards preserving inter-ethnic harmony and the mutual enrichment of national cultures.

Bishkek, October 18 / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev met with visiting Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, the Kyrgyz President's press office reports.

At the beginning of the meeting President Atambayev awarded Prince Karim Aga Khan IV the Danaker Order for public activities and the implementation of socio-economic projects in Kyrgyzstan. The President stressed that Kyrgyzstan appreciates the work of the Aga Khan Development Network and attaches great importance to further strengthening of cooperation with the Organization.

2008, November 6. Kyrgyzstan's foreign minister Ednan Karabaev met with Prince Aga Khan. Spiritual leader of Ismailits Prince Aga Khan IV visited Osh, the southern capital of Kyrgyzstan, where familiarized with a school named after him. The school was build in the frame of Aga Khan Fund?s educational programme and trains about 300 children. They study on the basis of copyright plan and international methodical teaching. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) plans to invest $1.4 in the charter capital of the Kyrgyz Credit Investment Bank now being formed.
