On the first day of an official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic, His Highness the Aga Khan was presented the Order of Danaker by His Excellency Almazbek Atambayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic. The order is the country’s highest recognition given to a foreign citizen for contributions to the strengthening of peace, friendship and cooperation between peoples and for working towards preserving inter-ethnic harmony and the mutual enrichment of national cultures.

Naryn, Kyrgyz Republic, 19 October 2016 - As part of AKDN’s broader commitment to the Naryn area, the Aga Khan Trust for Culture rehabilitated the Seitaaly Jakypov Park, creating space for leisure, play and exercise. On 19 October 2016, Naryn Governor Amanbay Kayipov joined Kyrgyz Prime Minister Sooronbay Jeenbekov and His Highness the Aga Khan to officially open the rehabilitated park.

Bishkek, October 18 / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev met with visiting Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, the Kyrgyz President's press office reports.
At the beginning of the meeting President Atambayev awarded Prince Karim Aga Khan IV the Danaker Order for public activities and the implementation of socio-economic projects in Kyrgyzstan. The President stressed that Kyrgyzstan appreciates the work of the Aga Khan Development Network and attaches great importance to further strengthening of cooperation with the Organization.

2009, October 12: H.H. the Aga Khan arrives in Kyrgyzstan today from Tajikistan. 2008, November 6. Kyrgyzstan's foreign minister Ednan Karabaev met with Prince Aga Khan. During the meeting, E.Karabaev welcomed him on behalf of President of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiyev and thanked the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) for rendering material assistance to quake victims in the republic' south. The parties discussed the results of implemented projects and perspectives of cooperation between AKDN and Kyrgyzstan. It was also raised issues about projects, which reflect tasks that set by the President of Kyrgyzstan in his message to the people of Kyrgyzstan.
2008, November 6. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Igor Chudinov and Prince Aga Khan have arrived in Naryn town. The goal of their visits is to familiarize with construction process of the University of Central Asia. The Prince Aga Khan arrived in Kyrgyzstan on three-day visit at the invitation of the republic's government. He had already visited Kazakhstan and Tajikistan within the framework of his tour to Central Asia.
In 1994, President Rakhmonov of Tajikistan and His Highness the Aga Khan conceived the idea of a new university designed to address the unique educational, economic and cultural needs of mountain communities.
Spiritual leader of Ismailits Prince Aga Khan IV visited Osh, the southern capital of Kyrgyzstan, where familiarized with a school named after him. The school was build in the frame of Aga Khan Fund?s educational programme and trains about 300 children. They study on the basis of copyright plan and international methodical teaching. During the visit, Prince Aga Khan have got acquainted with sport-hall, computer class, teaching-resource centre as well as participated in presentation of project?s exhibition, implementing by Aga Khan Fund in high mountainous regions of Osh oblast.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) plans to invest $1.4 in the charter capital of the Kyrgyz Credit Investment Bank now being formed. Total charter capital at the new bank will total $7 million.Kyrgyz Credit Investment Bank will begin operations in September. It will provide loans of $250,000 - $1 million to finance promising business projects.
