Ottawa, Canada: The Delegation of the Ismaili Imamat building, situated at 199 Sussex Drive in Ottawa, is established by His Highness the Aga Khan, 49th hereditary Imam, or spiritual leader, of the Shia Ismaili Muslims, and founder and chairman of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). This new building was officially inaugurated on Saturday, December 6, 2008.

A secular facility, the Delegation of the Ismaili Imamat will serve a representational role for the activities of the Imamat including its development agencies which constitute the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN).

Ottawa, Canada, 6 June 2005: His Highness the Aga Khan initiates the Delegation of the Ismaili Imamat, in the presence of Her Excellency the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson, Governor General of Canada. The Delegation will serve a representational role for the Imamat and its non-denominational, philanthropic and development agencies, which constitute the AKDN. His Highness is also invested as honorary Companion of the Order of Canada.
