I was distressed to learn that the Taleban rulers of Afghanistan had ordered the destruction of all statues, including the unique giant fifth century Buddhas located in Bamiyan.

Two postage stamps to commemmorate the Agra Fort were released here today by Union Minister of State for Communication and Information Technology Shakeel Ahmed.One of the two Rs 15 denomination stamps depicts the Amar Singh Gate of the fort while the other shows the Khas Mahal.
Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Culture, Jaipal Reddy and the Aga Khan were also present at the function.
Later a special concert was given by the Aga Khan music initiative for central Asia and the Silk Route ensemble.
