Prince Rahim visits East Africa to evaluate AKDN’s response to environmental sustainability and climate change 2020-03-07
Posted March 27th, 2020 by librarian-hdIn early March, Prince Rahim, accompanied by his wife, Princess Salwa, visited Kenya and Tanzania, to better understand the plans and responses of the various institutions and agencies of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) towards environmental sustainability and climate action.
Prince Rahim’s visit to Kenya took place in his capacity as Chair of the AKDN Environment and Climate Committee (ECC), which was recently established to develop a policy framework on priorities related to the environment and climate change for implementation by AKDN globally.

Fred Hutch and Aga Khan University set stage for a global health collaboration 2019-03-11
Posted March 12th, 2019 by librarian-hdFred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center on Tuesday formally announced a goal to collaborate on global health programs with Aga Khan University, which operates medical schools and hospitals throughout the developing world.
Dr. Gary Gilliland, president and director of Fred Hutch, and Firoz Rasul, president of Aga Khan University, signed a memorandum of understanding on March 5 outlining their intentions to develop a five-year relationship to advance cancer research and training and help build an improved medical infrastructure.

Prince Rahim and Princess Salwa Aga Khan visit Pakistan 2018-11-29
Posted December 12th, 2018 by librarian-hd29 November 2018 - Prince Rahim and Princess Salwa Aga Khan travelled to Pakistan for a six-day working visit in late October 2018, which included stops in several districts of Gilgit-Baltistan as well as in Chitral district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, along with the capital city of Islamabad and the southern city of Karachi. During their visit, Prince Rahim and Princess Salwa examined approaches to poverty alleviation and development, and visited a number of AKDN institutions and projects aimed at improving quality of life.
