The Aga Khan University on Saturday celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2022, its first-ever Founder's Day and the University's 40th anniversary. Simultaneous ceremonies were held in Pakistan, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda and broadcast online to an international audience of AKU's friends and supporters. Princess Zahra Aga Khan attended the ceremony in Karachi and shared a message from His Highness the Aga Khan, Founder and Chancellor of the University. Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah was the Chief Guest.

I would like to begin by expressing my warm and sincere gratitude to Your Excellency for joining us to celebrate this inaugural occasion. It is, as I would like publicly to acknowledge today, yet another sign of the steadfast support and encouragement that you have given to our initiative to establish The First Micro Finance Bank. Above all, it evidences Your Excellency's commitment.

KARACHI: With its failure to properly run the newly established 50 English medium schools with Cambridge International Examination (CIE) system in the province, the Sindh government is likely to handover these schools to the Aga Khan Board to ensure quality education to the students, it was learnt on Thursday.

In this regard, an initial consultation has been made while the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Sindh government and Aga Khan Board will be signed very soon after which the control of these CIE schools is to be given to Aga Khan Board, sources told Pakistan Today.
