The speech was preceded by the address given by Hakim Muhammed Ajmal Khan, as chairman of the reception committee. As the Aga Khan could not be present in person, the speech was read out by Mowlana Shaukat Ali. Nawab Imad-Ul-Mulk, referred to the royal visit and described it as the greatest and most auspicious in their national history. The speech described the purpose of a university and its role in keeping alive the true spirit of Islam. (Aziz; 377)
