The Aga Khan arrives for E. Africa Tour

His Highness The Aga Khan arrived in Uganda today at the start of an eight-day visit to East Africa. The Aga Khan, accompanied by his younger brother, Prince Amyn Aga Khan, were received at the Entebbe International Airport by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in charge of International Co-operation, Dr. Martin Aliker, and the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Stephen Nabeta.

Hundreds of Ismaili community members thronged the airport to welcome The Aga Khan.

While in Uganda, The Aga Khan will meet with senior government officials. He is also expected to announce or launch major national and regional development initiatives undertaken by The Aga Khan Development Network.

The Aga Khan will leave for Kenya today. He will also visit Tanzania.
