Aga Khan Hospital Extends Services

Story Filed: Monday, January 21, 2002 5:20 PM EST Jan 22, 2002 (The Nation/All Africa Global Media via COMTEX) -- The Aga Khan Hospitals in Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu will extend their laboratory services to reach surrounding areas through satellite laboratories.

For the Aga Khan Hospital Nairobi, the satellites are located in Buru Buru, Thika and Nakuru.

The Aga Khan Hospital Mombasa has collection points in Changamwe and Kisauni. In Kisumu, the hospital serves the western Kenya area, with two satellite labs in Kericho and Kisumu town centre.

The services available from these outlets include skin testing for fungal and bacterial investigation, sputum, pus, stool and urine collection, among others.

Meanwhile, Pumwani Maternity Hospital in Nairobi has received antibiotics worth Sh430,000 from Pharmacia Corporation.

The drugs were presented to the hospital by Mr Muhammad Umar, a medical representative of Framin Ltd.
