President A. Akaev: it is possible to solve problems of mountain regions only in common efforts
Bishkek, October 29. (KABAR). It is possible to solve problems of mountain regions only in common efforts, said President of Kyrgyzstan Askar Akaev at the opening ceremony of the Bishkek Global Mountain Summit. This is large-scaled action in the republic, in words of head of the organizational committee Asylbek Aidaraliev, estimate about 1,5 million US dollars. Governmental delegations from 26 countries, scientists, parliamentarians, representatives of financial organizations, journalists arrived in Bishkek to attend in the work of the Forum. In the end of the Summit the Bishkek Mountain Declaration will be accepted. The Declaration aimed to solve common tasks on stable development of mountain countries. It will allow to states to establish partnership and interaction with UN programs. It is expected to work out a document on creation of global communication network of developing countries. And the Central Asian Mountain Charter would be signed. Representatives of 60 countries take part at the Summit, among them Prince of Nepal Piras Bir Shah Dev, Prince of Liechtenstein Anton von und su Liechtenstein, Prince Aga Khan.
