The Aga Khan, Museveni Meet

The spiritual leader of the Ismaili Muslims, the Aga Khan, arrived in the country yesterday for talks with President Yoweri Museveni.

The Aga Khan, who flew in at 2:20pm on his private jet, was received at Entebbe International Airport by State ministers for regional co-operation Col. Kahinda Otafiire and for investment Sam Kutesa.

The Ismaili leader, who was accorded a red-carpet reception, boarded a helicopter to Museveni’s private ranch at Kisozi, where the two were scheduled to hold talks. He will be here for two days.

An official from the Aga Khan group said his Highness will hold talks with other government officials on matters related to projects undertaken by the Aga Khan Development Network in Uganda.

Some of the projects include the Industrial Promotions Services, Frigocan Uganda Ltd, Kampala Pharmaceuticals Industries, Leather Industries, Uganda Fishnet Manufacturers, Diamond Trust Bank, Jubilee Insurance Company and Jubilee Investments Ltd. Ends
