Ratification of Agreement on Economic Cooperation with Aga Khan Fund

BISHKEK. The issue to ratify agreement on economic cooperation between Kyrgyz government and Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED) will be solved on June 3, 2003 at a session of the Legislative Assembly of the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament) of Kyrgyzstan. Deputies today opened the debate on data issue. In the course of discussion, the majority of deputies noted that the idea of agreement do not contradict interests of the Kyrgyz Republic, however its is necessary to consider some articles. For instance, parliamentarians not approve granting benefits of the Aga Khan Fund in the frame of the data agreement in the part of tax engagements and its status and immunity. In case of ratification of the agreement, AKFED could open its representation in Bishkek for implementation of co-ordination of its activity in the republic. The agreement signed in Bishkek on October 31, 2002 in the course of the Global Mountain Summit. Minister of Finance Bolot Abildaev signed the agreement from the Kyrgyz side.
