Prince Karim Aga Khan arrives in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Prince Karim Aga Khan, spiritual leader of the Ismaili sect, arrived here Tuesday night on a 6-day visit to Pakistan.Federal Minister for Water and Power, Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao received the guest at Chaklala air base.

The Prince’s prominent followers were also present at the air base. During his stay in Pakistan, Prince Karim Aga Khan will meet President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali.

He will go to Chitral on Thursday on a daylong visit. He will fly to Garam-Chashma and Booni by helicopter and will meet his followers. Thousands of Ismailis have already arrived at Booni and Garam-Chashma to see their spiritual leader who is paying his first visit there in 16 years.

Prince Karim Aga Khan will also attend the Convocation of the Aga Khan University Hospital in Karachi and award degrees to the medical graduates. During his stay in Pakistan, Prince Karim will also meet Ismaili Council leaders. —APP
