Prince Agha Khan meets Musharraf, Jamali


ISLAMABAD: His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan, Spiritual Leader of the Shia Ismaili Muslims, President General Pervez Musharraf & Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali standing solemn silent in the respect of National Anthem at a reception, hosted by President in the honour of Prince at President House.
ISLAMABAD - The spiritual leader of the Ismaili community, Prince Karim Aga Khan held separate meetings with President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali here on Wednesday.

They discussed host of issues including matters of mutual interest including various development projects launched by Aga Khan Foundation in Pakistan. President General Pervez Musharraf informed him about the steps taken by Pakistan government for poverty alleviation, refugees' development and improvement in economic condition of the country.

He said Pakistan is an investment friendly country and foreign investors should exploit this situation. He appreciated Aga Khan Foundation on launching different development projects and programmes in the country. The President also welcomes Prince Aga Khan's keen interest for making investment in the privatisation programme.

President Musharraf also informed him about recent steps taken by Pakistan for the restoration of talks with India and added that these steps would be helpful in solution of all bilateral disputes through peaceful talks. Prince Karim Aga Khan appreciated polices adopted by Pakistan government and thanked President General Pervez Musharraf on extending cooperation.

During his meeting with Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, Prince Aga Khan lauded the steps taken by Pakistan government for the economic development of the country. The Prime Minister said that his government is continuing implementation on economic policies initiated by Musharraf government, which resulted in decrease in poverty.

He appreciated Prince Aga Khan for launching various development projects in Pakistan and said that they can expedite the pace of economic development with the cooperation of private sector. Prime Minister informed Prince Aga Khan about the performance of his government and development projects .

Later Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali hosted luncheon in honour of Prince Karim Aga Khan at the Prime Minister House. Members of federal cabinet, parliamentarians and Pakistan Muslim League (Q) central leadership were also present.
