Aga Khan arrives in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, May29 (Online): Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said that over 7 million people will be provided job opportunities in the next five years. "Employment opportunities will be created for 7 million people in the next five years so that the menace of unemployment and poverty are curbed ", he said this during a meeting with Agha Khan, spiritual leader of Ismaeeli sect who called on him Saturday in Prime Minister House.

Agha Khan exchanged views with the Prime Minister on matters of mutual interest and various projects being run under Agha Khan Foundation in the country.

Prime Minister praised the Agha Khan Foundation for launching different programs for development of education and health sectors.

Shaukat Aziz stated that government would allocate more funds in the forthcoming budget for development of social sector. " We are attaching much importance to poverty alleviation. GDP growth rate will be utilised for eradication of poverty, he added.

Prince Karim Agha Khan told the Prime Minister that Agha Khan Foundation would initiate more projects for human development and improvement in social sector. " We will provide financial assistance in this respect", he announced.

He appreciated the economic policies being pursued by the government. (Pak Tribune)
