UTHEE ALLAH NA GURE BA(N)DAA BY PEER SADARDEEN

ejee uthee allah na gure ba(n)daa, tu(n) sute sajee raat
     nakaa joree jeevjee, baanaa nakaa samar saath
     shaahjo ma(n)jeeaddo teeneekhe jeke subhudde jaagan
     subhudde na jaageeyaa te(n)khe huru(n) na i(n)dhee-u hath
     se haay haay ka(n)dhaa hath hanneedhaa,
     jee(n) haaree veenaai vatra...shaahjo........................1

O creature! You did not wake up to remember Allah in the morning and you slept for the entire night. You neither cared about the soul nor made any provisions for the hereafter. The Lord's pleasure is only due to those who are awake in the mornings. Those who do not wake up will not get the grace or assistance of the hurries(angelic spirits). They will repent and wring their hands like those farmers who lost the season of sowing.

ejee baanaa tojo takee-o yaaraa, kaddhan me(n) kudd
     pasee rataa guladdaa yaar, ma vinyaaij mudd...shaahjo........2

O man! You have made your abode o friend in thorns which are evil. Do not forget your real purpose(or do not lose your capital) by looking at the red flowers(glamour and pomp).

     jadde see(n)chaann(n)u sur ka(n)i yaar, tadde samaree-o

O man! You have made your abode o friend in thorns. When you felt the pain of their pinches, you began to remember the Lord.

ejee kapaatee-e(n) kateeu yaaraa, jadde sutaa lok
     tenanee paa(n)hje kate veedho, geechee gaaddo thok
     ... shaahjo..................................................4

O friend! The spinning women spun when others were asleep. They prepared a valuable red cloth and wore it around their neck.

ejee jeddonee teddo agee-o yaaraa, hu(n)dh kate-aai
     poy shubhaannee sartee-e veech, meelee marke-aa(n)i
     ...shaahjo...................................................5

O friend! They spun in whatever way they could and it was accepted. Wearing it they joined their friends merrily in the morning.

ejee kotthaa ma(n)ddap maa(n)ddee-u(n), ghar ghoddaane bha(n)ddaar
     ke na ne-aa paannshe yaaraa, jeev chala(n)te vaar
     ....shaahjo..................................................6

O friend! Palaces, shamyanas, buildings, horses and treasures. None have carried them along at the time of the departure of the soul.

ejee bhanne peer sadardeen, aa(n)hee sunno moman veer
     alakh truttho teeneekhe, jeenee sujaa(n)to shaah peer
