Diamond Jubilee of His Highness The Aga Khan IV
July 11, 2017 will mark the 60th anniversary of the ascension to the throne of Imamat by His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan who is the 49th Holy Imam in direct lineage from the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.s)
Prince Karim dedicated his life to the spiritual and material upliftment of all his Ismaili Murids. He has also pledged to improve the quality of life of the people amongst whom his followers lived and the countries in which they lived.
His Highness Prince Karim (Shah Karim as he is called by his Murids) is the 5th Imam since Hazrat Ali, who was the first Holy Imam and the 4th Caliph of Islam, to celebrate his Diamond Jubilee on the throne of Imamat. The other Imams were:
Caliph Mustansir Billah our 18th Imam who reigned during the Fatimid Period in Egypt
Our 29th Holy Imam Kassam Shah was the 2nd Imam to celebrate Diamond Jubilee of Imamat. He was Imam for 61 years from 710 A.H. to 771 A.H.
Aga Shah Hassan Aly Shah was the 3rd Imam to celebrate Diamond Jubilee as Imam. He was Imam from 1233 A.H. to 1298 A.H. He was the first Imam to have the title of Aga Khan and was also famously know as Muhammad Hussein al-Husseini "Mahelati"
Our 48th beloved Imam Shah Sultan Muhammad Shah was the 4th Imam to celebrate Diamond Jubilee after 60 years on the Masnad of Imamat. He was born in Karachi, Pakistan on 2nd November 1877

The Queen dazzles in a fuchsia ball gown as she holds a glittering reception to celebrate the Aga Khan's Diamond jubilee
Posted March 8th, 2018 by librarian-hde are used to seeing Her Royal Majesty in a uniform of conservative suits, but tonight she delighted royal fans as she slipped into a dazzling ballgown.
The Queen welcomed dignitaries to Windsor Castle for a glittering reception on Wednesday evening, and did so in a hot pink dress.
The 91-year-old monarch looked elegant in a floor-length gown silk gown complete with gold motifs as she welcomed guests to the White Drawing Room.
The event was held in celebration of the Diamond jubilee of the the Aga Khan's leadership as Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslim Community.

Fabian Dawson: Aga Khan’s diamond jubilee brings focus to spiritual leader’s contributions to world
Posted July 12th, 2017 by librarian-hdAs I began to write this column, I googled the word “Islam” for a snapshot of news coverage about the only religion that is now growing faster than the world’s population.
It was only after 10 pages, and about 100 stories, one appeared with a positive tone. The rest, as you can guess, were about terrorism, war, hate, blasphemy and extremism.
But there is another side to Islam, one we rarely see, read or hear about. One that inspires with pluralism, humanitarianism and action framed in ethical service and unrelenting philanthropy.

Inauguration of the Diamond Jubilee featuring Homage Ceremony at Aiglemont 2017-07-11
Posted July 12th, 2017 by librarian-hdLeaders from the past and present arrived at Hazar Imam's residence at Aiglemont on Tuesday July 11, 2017 to mark the inauguration of the Diamond Jubilee marking 60 years on the Masnad of Imamat.
A musical ensemble at Aiglemont represented music from the global Jamat. Devotional songs representing the diversity of the Ismaili community were as well as ginans.
Over 400 senior leaders of the worldwide Ismaili Muslim community moved in procession towards the residence of His Highness the Aga Khan at his Aiglemont estate in Gouvieux, France on the occasion of his Diamond Jubilee.
