Aga Khan Award for Architecture Series Wins American Graphics Award

The handsome series of AKAA Seminar proceedings has been awarded a Gold Medal in the 1981 NEOGRAPHICS Competition in the United States. The competition is a respected graphics contest which recognizes excellence in printed communications on a regional basis. The five-volume boxed set of seminar proceedings won the Gold Medal in the category "Trade, Religious and Technical Journals", and will become part of a travelling exhibition of graphics winners.

The set of proceedings documents AKAA seminars held from 1978-1980- in France, Morocco, Turkey, Indonesia and Jordan. The seminars were convened during the first cycle of Aga Khan Awards which culminated in the first Awards Presentation in Lahore in October 1980. The second series of seminars will begin this autumn as the next 3-year cycle of Aga Khan Awards goes into full swing.
