April 13,1984: Hazar Imam was honoured as Patron of Architecture and became the 19th recipient of the Thomas Jefferson Architecture Award, at the university of Virginia The Citation described Hazar Imam as "..truly a man for all seasons and all countries "

November 12, 1984: Monday. Mowlana Hazar Imam calls for long term strategy in Urban Planning at the Ninth International Seminar in Cairo, "Expanding the Metropolis." The seminar whose inauguration was attended by over 500 delegates from throughout the Muslim world had its opening session at the Arab League Building in Cairo. Also attending the Seminar were Mata Salamat, Om Habibah, Prince Sadruddin, Princess Aliya and Prince Amyn Mohammed. (click here)

November 15, 1984: Hazar Imam delivered the closing remarks at the Seminar in Cairo. He said; " we will create an enabling, rather than disabling environment and provide the platform for the growth we all desire." (click here)
